I love first visits to Disney and Universal! I love planning them, but more so, love the photos of a child or child at heart experiencing the magic for the first time!
Yes, that little human hugging Pluto is me, in 1970something, immersed in the magic of my first visit to Walt Disney World. It’s sweltering almost year round, so I’m not entirely sure why I was wearing a sweater.
I get asked all the time “what is a good first visit age?” I’d say anytime after a year. I may not remember the sweater, but I sure remember the feeling of awe riding It’s a Small World for the first time. My other favorite ride since that first trip were the now-defunct sky buckets from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland. My son got his first haircut at the barber shop on Main Street USA. Don’t wait until they don’t believe in the characters. The sparkle in their eyes is worth it!
So, welcome to my blog and welcome to the magic! There will be the upsides and downsides of Disney resorts, cruises, dining, and more. Hope to see you back here real soon! In the meantime, what’s your favorite first Disney experience memory?
